tour de pants

Well Saturday we (Lisa and I) rode the Tour de Pants! Man what a ride! We had a blast and the route kicked our ass, well mine anyway. Nathan and Burt from the "Bull and Bush" joined us as well. They rode the 75 mile route, I rode the 41 and Lisa did the 12. It was a challenging ride for all.

Lisa did about 18 miles, if you count all the extra pedaling she did while waiting on us. Her route had some very challenging hills as well, it was no cake walk! My route followed Lisa's for the first 4 to 5 miles than made a loop from the Lake to Grayford and back. My computer at the end of the day showed over 45 miles, again 4 miles of that was from riding around "The Cliffs" Resort, but it still counts in my book. Nathan and Burt's route Circled around Possum Kingdom Lake and ended along the same roads as the 40 and 12. The two of them, being very experienced roadies, said that this was one of the most challenging rides in North Texas, and they've done them all! One hill in particular was very rough for us all. The ride (41 and 12) starts with us going down this hill and finishes with us coming back up it. My mph, while going down, was just over 32mph and that was with heavy braking! Coming back up it was no picnic! I passed a lot of people walking there bikes. Over 650 riders participated in the ride, but only one, won the His and Hers Beach Cruisers....... and that was me!

The weather was good, we did get a little rain on the ride and short downpour while hanging out afterwards, but nothing serious. The temp was about 72-78 with cloudy skies and a nice cool breeze for most of the ride.

After the ride, I met up with Lisa at the pavilion and chow'ed down on some BBQ and free beer! We hung around for awhile and shot the shit with Nathan and Burt then headed back to Saginaw.

Were thinking of doing the Hot Rocks ride this weekend and have not counted out the HHH on the 28th!

I'll keep you posted!
